which inspired us to train athletes in Pole Vault event
OUR MOTTO
Professional training for poor athletes in Pole Vault event.
To enable them to secure a career in leading private and government organisations through sports quota.
What We Do
We select poor athletes from rural schools and give them Polevault training.
They are then given free education and accommodation in colleges to train Pole Vault in a professional level. (in Nehru Stadium) Tamil Nadu.. Chennai.
Since Pole Vault pole is a very expensive sport and poor athletes cannot afford,
Don’s Pole Vault Academy provides the required poles with the help of willing sponsors.
We conduct a high level altitude training in Ooty every year to improve endurance for the athletes which helps them to perform in the up coming sports meets organised at different levels.
This has been done for the past 5 years with the help of friends and sponsors.
About WILCOX
1972: Started his Pole Vault event from Campaign High School, Trichy motivated by coach Mr. T. Dennison and won laurels for the school and continued at University and State levels.
1975: Joined Income Tax Dept. in sports quota. Won several medals for the department.
2000: Started training athletes in Pole Vault event.
As his son was hearing impaired child, He trained his son helping him secure an Olympic Silver Medal in 2005 at Melbourne, Australia.
CONCLUSION
Kindly look into our Achievements and encourage us to provide poles and other facilities for the Pole Vault event and to attend our yearly camps at Ooty.
